American Heart Association Fundraiser

Arthur Murray Dance Center of Gaithersburg, in conjunction with the American Heart Association, is honoring the memory of our beloved teacher, Geryl Dominic Anderson, who tragically died from a heart attack on October 14, 2021. This is the second annual fundraiser with the majority of the proceeds going directly to the American Heart Association.

This year we have opted to make our fundraiser an in-studio Showcase, because if you knew Dominic even a little bit, you know he was always ready to put on a show. This Showcase will be open to our current students. Each student performing in the event will provide a donation at the studio as their entry fee.

Due to the estimated size of the event, unfortunately, we will not be able to have any spectators. We may livestream the event or release a YouTube video of the Showcase in the days following. If that happens or we are able to have spectators, we will provide an update to this page.

Dominic’s dance students ranged in age from five to over eighty. His lessons radiated with joy, encouragement, and unbounded enthusiasm. His laughter was contagious, and his smiles endless. The bright light of his life force continues to illuminate our dance studio.

For almost one hundred years, the American Heart Association has been helping to develop life-saving surgery techniques and devices, and ground-breaking studies for those affected by heart disease, as well as other health-compromising concerns.
